Research

I study how people make decisions about shared natural resources.

I use laboratory experiments, Bayesian methods, and theoretical models to investigate how groups allocate, appropriate, and provide common-pool resources and public goods. I am particularly interested in how shocks to natural resources affect sustainable practices, and how the risk of resource collapse changes when decision-makers must learn about those shocks as they unfold.
